Stimulus Package Broken
Dan Howdle 13:29, Tuesday 30 March 2010
We've got it, but it appears, no one in the UK at least... can play it...
The new Stimulus Package, launched mere moments ago is... well... broken.
Having tried numerous times to get into games under the new Stimulus Play List, we've discovered that all of the maps disallow entry, resetting themselves repeatedly to the intermission timer.
“The Stimulus Package is currently broken.”
The preview screen for each map appears as a single chequered image, along with the map name as it probably was during the debug stage.
We have attempted to contact Activision about the problem. Rumours are currently flying that a dashboard update is apparently yet to arrive and that this may be the issue. We shall keep you posted.
Update 1: As per Robert Bowling's blog entry detailing everything we need to know about the Stimulus Package, the Infinity Ward man mentions a title update for the game, which enables MW2 players to access the DLC. It was supposed to launch along side, but it seems if you've got the DLC you may have to wait a while:
"Along side the DLC, but something ALL of our users will get, is a title update for Modern Warfare 2. Included in this update is support for the DLC (if you choose to purchase it), as well as some tweaks to the One Man Army perk, some matchmaking updates that will help our international users find more locally hosted games thanks to how ping is now sorted, and various other code updates that will help improve the overall quality of multiplayer on Modern Warfare 2. There is no exact time you can expect all this, I’d say early morning when traffic is at its lowest, but by the time you wake up and get online I’m sure it will be available to most of you on March 30th! See you online all this week!"
Update 2: Major Nelson has confirmed that the problems lie in Microsoft's court with the following Tweet:
"The engineers are already engaged and working on the MW2 Stimulus Pack problem. They'll get is corrected."

Also, my gym/health teacher always told me to remeber that you dribble before you shoot. I could never figure if he was talking about basketball or sex. Have a nice day

Sometimes death is all you can see, it's all around you, it consumes you...so you have to look at it in the eyes and bare your teeth.

admittedly, playing on crash and overgrown is nice. I just got tired of running in games by myself.
edit: I was just thinking on this.
The 1200 MSP price is a bad sign for the future of COD DLC if Activision is still going to be the producer. If enough people pay 1200 MSPs then they will see that they can charge that price from now on. Too bad there is no way to reach all gamers to let them know that no one should have bought the damn thing.

and that was one of my main reasons for NOT buying them, and im really glad i didnt, I played the maps at a buddies house this weekend, and i have to say they are very mediocre at best, its pretty sad that the best maps in the pack are the two the recycled from COD4. out of the new ones i would say that the one in the junk yard with the snow is the best, and thats stretching it, ALOT. Yea it would have been nice to have DXP but not for what they want to charge.
Eli you are absolutley correct on the future DLC, if they get 500,000 asshats to buy the DLC at 15 bucks a shot, then they know they can get at least that much. whats next, $20, $30 DLC? You wont find me paying that. IW need to get their shit sorted, between the glitching and hacking this game has turned into a joke, i am actually imbarrased to call myself a call of duty fan because of this.
