Stimulus Package Sets New Xbox Live Sales Record
2.5 million downloads in the first week alone.

April 7, 2010 - Activision announced that the Stimulus Package, the first map pack released for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was downloaded over one million times on Xbox Live in the first 24 hours of its release on March 30.

Priced at $14.99, first-week sales reached 2.5 million downloads in total. The Stimulus Package is currently only available for download on Xbox Live, making these sales all the more impressive for Activision.

Comparatively, first-week sales of the first map pack for Call of Duty: World at War reached one million downloads across Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, and only cost $10 at launch.

title says it all. I don't care anymore. I will eventually buy the map pack, but not now. Anyone know how much the COD4 map pack goes for right now, or if it ever went on sale.

Kinda hard to believe it outsaled all of WaW's DLC combined and MW2's DLC has only been out on the PS3

I don't know, how many copies of W@W were sold before it's first DLC? I think that might make quite a difference.

so 2.5million x $15 = $37.5million ...these guys must cover all there expenses in producing this game just from the one map pack alone ...i'm in the wrong business !

I think MW2 costed like 40 million to make, but they spent 200 million on the marketing and launch aspects. So it was pretty expensive when all was said and done. That being said, I am unhappy all these people buying the dlc. I equate it with the fucking liberals passing off the bill for health care to me. By buying the dlc, you are making me pay more for the next one that comes out.

I have been banned by BFBC2/EA for trying to bounce a spammer from a forum that camo started. I have been banned from the multiplayer because of the post I made on an EA forum. I am now buying the MW2 DLC with the money that I will get from selling BFBC2. The tide has turned I have switched positions. FUCK EA and BFBC2, their game play doesn even come close to a broken MW2, which, by the way, for all of you that haven't played MW2 in a while, is not broken anymore.

actually it is broken i tried to play this last weekend at a buddies house and 9/10 games i was put into were hacked lobbies.

so you go ahead and waste your money on this shit. you were already on thin ice over that the BFBC forums for you "you want some estrada in your mouth" comment.

I enjoy playing BC2 with you and hope once you calm down you will reconsider. If you want to pay Activision 15 bucks for some maps than that is your prerogative, but I would reconsider trading in BC2. You just spent 60 bucks on it and would prob not get 50% of the investment back. Plus, who knows, maybe you will want to jump on BC2 for a match with us one of these nights.

1st off, I did the MW2 map pack simply because I had some Monster Codes. The maps are fine, but $15 is just too much and I know our group will not be buying the 2nd pack.

Now Deviant, you and I have beome somewhat friendly and you know the heaps of respect I have for you. But are you sure that 9/10 lobbies were hacked? Don't get me wrong, there are dummies that did 10th lobbies all over the place in this game now. They really are the best type to play because they never really took the time to find out exactly what works for them or develop any solid foundation in this game. But as far as infections / 4+ Perks / 3 Weapon issues, those have been gone since before the MP Download. In addition with the recent XBL update, Jtaggers have been rendered useless as well. What does this all mean?

Not that MW2 is any more enjoyable for some because as TD eluded to, the same douche bags are still playing. But let's be realistic here, I get on and play to have fun with guys I am with. I will say it that I miss hitting Mosh Pit with you boys not because we won, but because it was fun.

OT: Yeah we are totally screwed here. I doubt we will ever see an 800 msp DLC again for any semi popular game.

yea was just gonna say what otis already said ....i havent encounted any hacked lobbies , and the update has made alot of difference..matchmaking is way better now and the only gripe i still have with this game is the spawns which alot of people on the forums have now taken to complaining about so hopefully that will be the next thing they update and then this game will be solid.

Yea i dunno what was going on but if i recall correctly i was put into games that had that running at a thounsand miles an hour BS, another lobby everyone could jump really high, i had no perks the other team could not be killed, they had all perks at once. it was just a cluster fuck and i was looking forward to getting back onto the game, but after seeing that. Maybe i just have shit luck. now i will say that when i wasnt looking for team games, IE FFA the only problem i ran into were nuke boosters, but they are just fun to mess with.


I may come back to MW2 only if the map pack goes like 50% or something.
