new maps are always good ...but making us pay for maps i already own ..that sucked the fat one !

with the popularity of this game you would have expected afew freebies along the way , considering how much crap the community had to put up with when it came to glitches and other broken gameplay

yeah, I wrote a thread a long time ago how I felt we should recieve a free map even if it was just a day/night variant of a current map or COD 4 map to repay us for our patience through the glitches

While I agree with maps we already had, some people didn't even play CoD:4 In everyother game you got more bang for your buck with the Map Packs. In WaW you got three maps and a zombie level. Granted I only played zombies to get the achievements it was still something extra they gave to the fans. I don't pretend to condone the 1200MSP map pack but if it gave us something extra I wouldn't be complaining. Personally two new "old" maps is not enough to justify the price. I just bought it and moved on.

As far as Freebees go, it will never happen.

Freebies do happen...Makin Day in World at War happened. I just dont think it would have taken alot of effort from IW to give the fans something for all the horrible glitches that plagued MP. It could have been something easy for them to do like a map variant, alt weapons skin for a gun, or at the bare minimum a free them for your xbox dashboard. Their silence followed by an overpriced DLC was a slap in the face.

I completely agree with camo on this point and I am an admitted MW2 fanboy. The "right" thing to do as a company was to throw a bone to the $1,000,000,000 public like Makin Day. What would have been perfect was a christmas map around christmas like the Christmas Crash map. but, they blew the opportunity.

I know freebies do happen. I just don't see it happening for this game. Even though this game has its "problems" I still play it every night. And Pete what does "You are going to fit in around here" mean?

Stabby is right on his assumption and if you would have asked me back around the holidays if a free map was in the relm of possibilities, I would have said "No Way".

Treyarch had to do something to get back into the good graces of it's fans when they released the free map. Not only was their game not as popular in sales as the previous COD game, but it was rapidly losing on-line gamers. While this may or may not seem important to us, it is was critical to them becuase they had DLC coming out in the upcoming months and they needed to maintain interest.

This just isn't the case for MW2. It is still running over 400k per night on XBL. Even with all the issues surrounding this game, there are those of us that are still stupid enough to play this game (granted I only played 1 match in last few days as Blur is now my drug of choice). In addtiion, let's be realistic, IW is not Treyarch. While I have my issues with Trey and their games, they are pretty good to their fans. When was the last time IW did anything for it's fans? The treated the COD:4 fan base poorly, but they could afford to, the game was good and had an addictive quality. The same can be said about MW2 as well. Let's not mention that the turmoil inside of IW probably didn't help much either.
