After time BF:BC2 will ruin MW2 for you. Lemme esplain. I am a devote member of the COD religion and have supported MW2 violently through all of its crappiness. Further, until recently, I have preferred to play MW2 over BF. Last night, for some reason, I could not connect to EA online, but was able to connect to XBL with no problem. So, I was forced into MW2 while all my friends were playing BF. Here is what I realized.

The main problem with, and ultimate benefit of, BF is that it has a steep, fucking steep, learning curve. I think that it takes until about level 12-14 to really understand what is going on in the game and be good at it. That took me, the old man 24 hours of online time. The maps on BF are massive and don't have landmarks that standout as clearly as MW2's maps, except for the obvious like the lighthouse. So, it takes a long time to become familiar with them. Once you do, then you have to learn the locations of the MCCOMs (rush) and understand the structures that surround them. Then you have to learn the defensive enemy spawns and the attacking enemy routes for each of the maps, and this is just in the game mode rush. Once you get all that down, you have to know your limits on the maps, the appropriate role of your character and the range of each of your weapons and/or gadgets.

Then you hop on a game of HQ in MW2 and everyone just noobtubes you to death hoping to get enough of a multi kill to get the nuke.

Moral of the story, if you are going to play BF and commit to being good at it, you are probably going to end up hating MW2 when you go back to it. Also, if you are thinking of picking up BF, DO IT, and suck it up for a while, I promise you it will be worth it once you get it down. Right guys?

DICE is making the mp for MOH, so you might as well play this and get used to the mechanics.

Ah, I know that feeling. If only you could have the patience to get over it, you would be so happy.

I traded in my MW2 when gamestop was offering the 50% more for your trade ins deal... Which, happened to be the same time that BC2 was coming out. I really think MW2 was a piece and they really ripped a lot of loyal customers off with an unfinished product.

Yes, BC2 has a learning curve but once you figure it out and you have a squad to play with (this is the only annoying thing) then BC2 blows MW2 outa the water. I would say don't even bother playing MW2 just for the pure reason of boycotting a game that was chosen to be released because the release date is set.

BC2 over MW2... add me as a friend and we can squad up and prove how easy it is to steamroll people.

I figured I would answer here as well!

Thanks for the welcome.... I have been playing games with DesertCamo and Deviant since MW2 came out. Then when BC2 came out i think we all made the jump!

I look forward to reading more about what you guys have to say and now I have one more way of staying in the loop about the games I like.

Very well said...patience at first and a squad is what's needed...and now that you guys talk about it...well, I'm noticing that I have not picked up MW2 in a while...a very long while.

On BC2 if you have patience at first and unlock the weapons that you are confortable with...and also asume a role and do that job on the squad...well...you will have lots of fun. The only downdraw to this, is that your friends don't play as much as you want to...wink wink TD....lol.

I agree!

I like to play all the classes... At first I liked recon because I could be that noob that sits back and snipes... But, it also allowed me to see the maps and get a feel for the battlefield. Now, As I have played for some time I am really liking the assault class (i really did not like it at all at first) the noob tube allows me to open up buildings so I can see in them and the unlimited ammo gives the ability to spray objects.

I really wish they would make squad rush better! OR people weren't lame and would stay. That way we can rely on each other only and not have to rely on potentially 8 other morons that can't get their ish together!

Yeah, I am not really sure how to fix squad rush, I am just not feeling it right now. What we often do is get 8 guys together in one game of rush in two squads, that way we only have to rely on 4 blue guys

I still love COD due to the fast paced action and I still like their weapons feel while firing them. However, the teamwork that BC2 requires is amazing. If you can get in a well coordinated team, then you will have the time of your life. Coming back for a couple matches of MW2 after playing BC2 for weeks now was really disorienting. Obviously it takes a coupe matches toge used to the differing control schems, but the whole team element of MW2 seemed completely missing. Sure you could get on a team of buddies, but finding a matched team who also care about winning more than getting kills seems like it is about 1 in 50. More than likely you will get killed by more noob tubes and rpgs then you can stomach and will flee back to BC2. Long Live teamwork.
