Second Modern Warfare 2 Map Pack Coming Out In Late 2010
The second map pack for the blockbuster Modern Warfare 2 will be released in the second half of 2010, an Activision executive confirmed today. That will be the first fresh dose of Modern Warfare since the recently-issued Stimulus Pack.

During a company financial earnings call, Activision's Thomas Tippl said that the back half of the calendar year will include both the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops as well as a new Modern Warfare 2 expansion. Black Ops is in development by Activision's Treyarch team. The second map pack, Tippl said, is being made by Infinity Ward.

No further details about the map pack were offered.

When asked about the $15 price of the first Modern Warfare map pack, the Stimulus Package and whether it will stick, Tippl said: "The $15 price point has still provided a fantastic value to gamers.. we think that has worked."

unless I hear the maps are amazing, I'll probably have moved on. Lately I've been playing a lot of Fallout 3 actually. I picked up a couple of expansions and I've been happy with it. I'll still play MW2 for now, but I'm just about done with it.

Coming first to Xbox 360.

Activision has announced a June 3 release date for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence Pack, the second multiplayer map pack for the blockbuster first-person shooter from Infinity Ward.

As was the case with the Stimulus Package, Resurgence Pack will be available first on Xbox 360 and will feature five maps.

Additionally, to celebrate the upcoming release, Infinity Ward will host two Double XP weekends. The first will take place beginning Friday, May 28, and the second will follow on Friday, June 4.

so this DLC comes out in a little over 3 weekes and we dont even have any info on what the maps are or look like....fail. For a company so gung ho on advertising their shit they are doin a piss poor job keeping us informed of post release content.

Seriously? This is one of the many reasons why MW2 failed and IW is driving the ship. First off if the first package was the "Stimulus" package why was it so damn expensive. I thought in a time of recession you "stimulate" by lowering the prices lets say to 400 MS points. Next they are coming out with a "Resurgence" package. Wouldn't that one be the normal 800 MS points? Instead of calling Resurgence they should call it "We're going to ass rape you with no vaseline because Eli broke down and bought the DLC" package. j/k

I know that the industry lives and dies by its brand but damn. I'm just thankful I sold the damn game while it was still worth trading in.


Side note: I already know who the homos are who will respond to the "stimulate" comment led by Pete so go for it! lol Get your mind out of the gutter.
