Last Saturday my Dad and I drew up plans and purchased materials for a workbench to build in the garage in my new house. It's a two car garage with an 8' x 9' shop bump out in the back. This past Saturday we built the bench and installed a 4 foot subzero florescent fixture. You need subzero in NJ because florescent bulbs don't work well in the cold weather. Anyway, here are some pics of the bench as we built it. It is "L" shaped: the long end is 9' x 2.5' and the short end is 5.5' x 2.5' providing a total work surface of a little more than 36 square feet. It's constructed of 2 x 4's and 3/4" plywood with 4 x 4 supports. We also put a shelf under the one side. All I need to do is hang the pegboard, you can see that we mounted the nailers already for that.

Very nice Pete. You should have put up some more of those cabinets in the foreground on the left wall as well, they'll come in handy.
The Lord said, "What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries out to Me from the ground... A fugitive and a vagabond you shall be on the earth."

For God and the soldier we adore, In time of danger, not before! The danger passed, and all things righted, God is forgotten and the soldier slighted." - Rudyard Kipling

You can come to my house and build me one if you would like.

Sometimes death is all you can see, it's all around you, it consumes you...so you have to look at it in the eyes and bare your teeth.

It looks like shit. Why isn't it painted yet? Sorry, just working on my father insults that produce results when my son gets a bit older.

I would only paint it if I was going to make My Little Ponies on it bitch. I didn't even sand it because splinters are inspirational.
