As you all know I live in NJ and it's pretty difficult to get a pistol purchase permit and, as I recently learned, even more difficult to affordably purchase a pistol. I had my heart set on a Glock G22 Gen 4 and I found a store that sold them for anywhere between $398-$455 depending on the type of sights you get. That is a great price and I budgeted for that. After six weeks of waiting I got my permit and all the glocks were sold out. Gun purchases are through the roof because of the current administration in the white house. And .40 cal is very popular. So I started looking at other dealers for glocks and learned that they were just price gouging on the popularity of .40 glocks charging $650 and up. So I said fuck it. I'll wait the 10-15 weeks my dealer would take to get me a glock. Problem is, in NJ my permit to purchase expires in 90 days, not enough time to wait. So I went with my second choice the S&W M&P .40 wherein S&W basically stole the entire design from Glock.
I picked it up and could not be happier. The grip and trigger pull are awesome and the internals are a mirror of the glock. Plus it's made in America. Smith was also the first and second guns I ever shot.
I didn't have anytime to get pictures but I will. Here is a stock photo from the interwebz:

Mine has Tijicon (I think) green night sights, the beaver tail you see here and no thumb safety or magazine safety. Comes with 3 15 round mags. Can't wait to shoot it and put some pics up here.
