I was talking to a couple other people in chat about promoting this site.  One of the pitfalls I and others have encountered is the sites web address.  The name makes people think that this is only a clan and recruiting site.  I propose that we register a new domain name that when the user goes to it it automatically redirects to this site.  I think once people see this site they will like it but alot of them my be hesitant because of the "clan" in the name and they dont have a desire to go in a clan.  We brainstormed and came up with a few ideas for this redirecting domain name that we could advertise better with.

fragyou.com
bringinthedogs.com or BITD.com

If any of you guys have ideas feel free to post them.  Give me your thoughts and input on this.  I am eager to expand our member base.

I can definitely see why people would get put off by the site address. If I refer anyone to the site I tell them it was made for a clan, but the forums are open to anyone.

This was one of my suggestions!  :-)  I'm game for any of them but in the end if this is done it needs to be something that people will remember.  I agree that the URL sounds more like a clan website rather than a gathering place for the casual gamer.  However, I thought there was an actual EKC that this site supports.  I could be wrong.  If it does, how would they feel about the URL change?  Like I said it's really up to JB to decide if he wants this to be a clan site or a gathering of mostly great minds (excluding Camo) site.  If the name never changes I will still support the site because it has become home to me and I've chatted with and got to know some great people.

I dont want the URL to change to this site.  The idea is to get a second URL.  The new site would not have anything on it.  All it would simply do is redirect to here.  That way they would be coming to this site without us having to give this sites name out.

Give out that website to everyone and their mom.  It auto redirects to this one.  .com, .net and .org were taken is why its .biz

Since my resignation from EK, and seeing as this is no longer the Clan's site, I was thinking of changing the URL.

Now, with that said, I already have 3 domains under my belt.

They are:

http://www.thedonmurpway.net
http://www.smfchat.com

I was thinking more along the lines of e-kill.com.

Also, seeing as we are no longer restricted to the Clan, we can expand more. I need ideas. What should we have? What should we do?

We can still use that as a redirect, but a .com or .net domain really is better in terms of search indexes.
