odd it doesn't tell me how much moon shine I can drink.
I make Ethanol and that is 200 proof or above.  No we do have something that is called Regen that is about 160-180 proof that's more like moonshine.  We had a kid that would take the 200 and drink it..... he's no longer working there.

first of all you can all kiss my ass j/k, if you dont like the taste of the moonshine, then you are drinking the wrong stuff.  Which can be VERY bad for you.

and I am sorry Mcvugh, but there is no way you could make a drink above 200 proof.  Seeing as how 200 proof =100% pure alcohol and there is no way to add anythign to 100 %, see guys I did pay attention in math class.  And while making somethign 200 proof is technically possible, it would mean that you have a pure alcohol liquid, great in theory but not very beneficial to drink.  Picture rubbing alcohol

Actually depending on the temp it can be above 200.  It's not uncommon for us to hit 202 or 203 proof.

yea. . .ummmm no. it is IMPOSSIBLE to get a higher APV than 200. it is mathmatically impossible to get anything above 100% alcohol.

Most rubbing alcohol is between 75% and 95.5% pure ethanol. the highest "commercially" available alcohol is everclear which  depending on who makes it is between 75.5% and 95% pure alcohol. 151 to 190 proof
Thanks for the back up TD, the proof/percentage thing is a little wierd at first, but I am glad there are others out there who know.

Wait....yes.......I did it.  It has now been distilled to 800 proof.  I can drive my car 40 miles on a quart of this stuff.  Next up: 1,000 proof.

No one is saying you are dumg at all, but the way proof works is that whatever the proof is you divide it by two to get the alcohol percentage.

Proof used to be wether or not the liquid caught fire, if it did, then it was "proofed" but that was back in the 18th century.

The reason that proof is double the alcohol content now is because if you take most popular whiskey's, they are around 80 proof.  It is much easier to sell something to some poor bastard advertising that your drink is "80 proof" as opposed to 40% alcohol.

This being, take Bacardi 151.  It is 151 proof, therefore a little over 75% alcohol and 25% whatever they add to fill the rest of the bottle.  Everclear is 180 proof, or 90% alcohol.  This is impressive because the highest alcohol content you can get outside of a lab is around 95%.  Anything above that will actually absorb the water molecules in the air, therefore dilluting the alcohol.

Ethyl alcohol is what you would call 200 proof, and it is 100% alcohol.  This is not like playing little league baseball when you actually thought you could give 110% effort to get this last out.  We are adults here and we know that when it comes to grown up stuff 100% is the best that you can get.

While I dont know what your temp to proof sheet says I do know exactly what proof means, I have had to take tons of classes about this since I am a police officer and have to testify to this stuff saying I know what it means and does.

Now knowing that it is impossible to get something that is 102% alcohol and knowing what "proof" means, we can now say with confidence that haveing anything over 200 proof is impossible.

+1.  And Brett Favre regularly drinks 250 proof.  His pedigree for drinking overpowers whatever these so called 'scientists' tell you.  His cannon of an arm could rearrange molecules with a flick of the wrist.

Well now I can't wait to see what happens when he walks in the tundra.  So back to the proof thing.  Upon further review my sheet does say 205 proof and the temp.  Now you get the 202 to 203 on a hydrometer almost all the time, this being said I wasn't even thinking that we convert it down to account for the temp.  So I was way wrong in saying this.  Sorry ya'll.  So today when I ran my sample I had gotten a reading on the hydro at 201.5 and that ended up being a 199.7 proof converted down.  We also run another test that can tell you exactly how much water down to the 1,000th.  I know boring topic.

I was really wondering about the temp thing dude.  There are very few things that I know for absolute certain, and the proof thing was really drilled into my head in more than a couple classes.  It came in really handy in quite a few court rooms, otherwise I would not have been so adament about it.

Kudos to you for not being offended.  However I would like to know more about the temp sheet that you were talking about.

The Wii sports video games actually do make you sweat a bit...but I think it's a rediculous idea to pay for games and consoles to do what you could for free...go out there and have some free fun and interact with friends.
Fact is no one will go outside and play when they can play from their couch..

Fat ass...jk.  In a way you are right but that is one of the things that our society does wrong now a days.

In your situation I do understand, or mine when I was a teen...can't really go out there peacefully to have fun with friends in South Central L.A. or Watts...if you know what I mean.

Aye.
