Me and Thatdude had a great idea to allow new people to see this site.  We could make a glossy card  to give to people at MW2's launch.  I will be at the midnight launch in my city and could give them to people standing in line and I am sure my bro who works at gamestop would do the same.  What do you guys think?  We would need to raise a little bit of dough to fund the printing of said cards but I think this would be a great idea.

we have about a month and a half to do some fund raising I guess. Any ideas of where you can get this done?

Do you want me to create the card image in Adobe creative suite?  If anyone else wants to give it a try too we could vote on which one to use..

that sounds good. It wouldn't even have to be too fancy, basically a graphic and a message about the site.

BTW:

is the logo we have the logo we are settling with or is that another item we need to address?

I vote for the Ghost outfit to be the front with some fancy stuff that's eye-catching.

Also, as for the logo, that still has to be sorted. Last I knew, Camo was working on it?

how about a barracks like building with two flags, one xbox and one PS.

Do like a badge you would sew on a jacket in the shape of a police badge and in the center of it put the general stars with the words gaming brotherhood above and below it then put two pistols behind it.

thats the other thing, are we going for a logo that is like a patch, like phlap said, or just an icon? it makes a difference in how we come up with ideas.

You had to.  You just had to go use the "I" word.  Oh well.  Here's a couple of ideas.


1.  Master Chief shaking hands with Soap/Miller (the rivalry between the two franchises is well documented, but we don't really give a toss, being a Gaming Brotherhood.  See?).  Have crossed rifles/pistols behind it, choose the colour scheme yourself.

The handshake would have to be one of these ones - ivvi- But don't show their bodies, just their arms.  I can elaborate on that if I've not explained it coherently enough.  It's early right now.  :(


2.  Have some guys get into a private party.  Make sure one of them has a capture card (I know Camo has one).  Go on a map like Castle (you'll see why), and go to the front of the Dojo (the side with the stairs leading up into the big room).  Now, have the guys line up.  A sniper with a ghillie suit crouched on the right, shotgunner standing next to him, leader (JBlaze, perhaps =D ) standing out a little bit in front with a Magnum, Rifleman beside him, SMG/Machine Gunner next to him.  Have someone spin around and put a couple of shots into the group of barrels behind you (there's 3 of them) and wait.  Have them capture the whole thing, up until after the flames have gone from when the barrels eventually explode.

Now it's just a case of taking a snapshot of the group standing in front of the flames, in a SLIGHT V formation.  The reason you go into a private party is because the one with the capture card can go into spectate mode and fuck around with different angles, while the 5 others pose for the pictures.  Then just emblazon "Gaming Brotherhood" on the front either at the top or the bottom, put the URL on the back with some info about who we are (friendly community, etc).


3.  A close up snapshot of someone firing a Thompson while standing in the water on Makin.


Those are ideas for the cards.  See what you think.


As for the logo...  The current one works well, but I think it should be a little but more gritty.  Make it a bit darker, add slight cracks in the skull...  You know what I mean.  Regardless of what the logo is, it would be inbetween the words "Gaming" and "Brotherhood" in idea #2.

I vote for a patch.  I know in the army when you see someone with a different patch you kind of wanted to know more about the unit.  Patches have been around our military history for a while and I think that would be fitting for us.

Patches are hella expensive to make.

i know a guy who makes things like that, and just to digitize the graphic will cost upwards of 100$. not to mention 5-7 bucks per patch. i think we should stick with the cards first. i dont wanna be spending a ton of money on people who may or may not come to the site.

I really didn't want to be too pretentious. I have a lot of respect for you guys and our military and there was no way I was going to imply that I myself deserve to have any kind of military symbols on my person without having earned them.

Dude I agree with the cards at first, 2nd Eli dude it's not like vets walk around with our patches and shit plastered all over us.  Ohhh i just made master sergeant.

I've seen some people with clothes that have sergeant stripes on the sleeves and shit and I thought it was disrespectful to the people who had actually earned them.
